Peer Support: Share your personal experiences and insights to offer hope, encouragement, and practical advice to individuals seeking support. Your journey will provide a relatable and reassuring presence to those navigating their own paths.
Engagement: Build and sustain positive relationships with individuals in behavioral health services, offering a listening ear and demonstrating genuine understanding. Your ability to connect with others will be central to fostering a sense of belonging and trust.
Facilitation: Lead or co-facilitate support groups, workshops, and activities designed to encourage personal growth and community connection. Your role will involve creating and guiding sessions that contribute to the development of our individuals.
Resource Navigation: Assist individuals in accessing community resources, mental health services, and support systems. Your guidance will help individuals effectively navigate the resources available to them.
Advocacy: Advocate for the needs and rights of individuals, both within the center and in interations with external agencies. Your advocacy will ensure that individuals receive the support they need and are treated with respect and dignity.
Safety & Wellness: Ensure a safe and supportive environment by monitoring and addressing any immediate concerns or crises in collaboration with other staff members. Your vigilance will contribute to maintaining a secure and nuturing space.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of interactions and provide feedback for the continuous improvement of center services.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
Lived Experience: Personal experience with mental health challenges and/or substance use, coupled with a demonstrated commitment to recovery and personal growth. Your firsthand understanding will be essential to the support you provide.
Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Your skills will enable you to build rapport and facilitate meaningful interactions.
Empathy: A compassionate and non-judgmental approach to supporting others. Your empathy will be crucial in creating a supportive environment for individuals.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of peers and professionals.
Flexibility: Adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the center and its individuals. Your flexibility will ensure that you can respond effectively to the dynamic nature of the role.

Work Schedule: 8-5 (Mon-Fri) Flex
Salary: $15.00/hourly
