POSITION: PEER SERVICE COORDINATOR
Working Unit: VETERAN’S GRANT
Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday); Variable
Salary: $40,512.72 Yearly; DOEE&Q
Position: 4802

General Description:
Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor of Adult Mental Health Services, this position is designed to enhance access to resources by Service Members, Veterans and their Families through peer–to-peer counseling services. Coordinators shall organize and lead activities and Volunteers in a way to gain trust through life experience such as developing skills useful in adapting to post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injuries. Employee should demonstrate dedication to public service, commitment to excellence in service delivery, personal integrity and recognition of the individual worth and common needs of all people. Work schedule may require flexibility and the use of a Center vehicle to travel within a 7-county catchment area.

Qualifications:
A high school Diploma or equivalent is required. College degree preferred. Must be a service member, veteran or a family member. Previous work experience as a volunteer in or a manager of a volunteer-focused program preferred. Must complete training as a qualified Peer-to-Peer Support Group facilitator as well as suicide prevention training such as ASIST and/or ASK. Must have good oral and written communication skills as well as computer skills for monthly report preparation and documentation.

THE CENTER FOR LIFE RESOURCES PREFER APPLICANTS WHO ARE ALREADY LIVING IN OR ARE WILLING TO MOVE TO THE 7 COUNTY CATCHMENT AREA WITHIN 90 DAYS OF THEIR HIRE DATE. OUR CATCHMENT AREA INCLUDES THE COUNTIES OF BROWN, EASTLAND, COLEMAN, COMANCHE, SAN SABA, MILLS, AND MCCULLOUCH.
