Job Summary:

The Program Manager will be responsible for program development and implementation of APAA Peer Recovery Support Services. He/ She oversees all aspects of the program, from inception to execution, ensuring that objectives are carried out on time and within budget. He/ She will be responsible for managing project budgets, supervising team members, preparing progress reports, and ensuring the smooth functioning of program operations under his/her oversight.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

·        The Program Manager will be responsible for the operation and performance of APAA services and programs and support the mission of the APAA by providing programs and services to encourage and support healthy lifestyles for peers in recovery.

·        This position will assist with oversight of APAA to include the following: budgeting, planning and coordinating of programs and services, completion of proposals, development of policies and procedures, weekly support groups, grants, special events, community volunteer service, mentoring, and supervision of peer support specialists and coaches.

·        Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with grants requirements and audits.

·        Oversee the development, implementation, and enhancement of program structure, programs, training, and supervision of staff and volunteers.

·        Facilitate interdepartmental meetings and staff workshops.

·        Coordinate agency participation in community events, programs, and activities.

·        Supervise the development of member and volunteer services opportunities.

·        Align programs & services to APAA’s mission, goals, and objectives.

·        Facilitate the development of curriculum for recovery support groups.

·        Oversee enrollment and eligibility processes.

·        Monitors and manages program metrics to manage employee performance.

·        Design, develop, and revise program material and promotional items.

·        Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:

·        Ability to plan and organize.

·        Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks.

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·        Strong organizational and leadership skills.

·        Knowledge of and skilled in computer operations and programs.

·        Experience in working with volunteers and peers in recovery.

·        Familiar with city and county government structure.

·        Excellent judgment concerning professional and personal boundaries and cultural competence.

·        Analytical and strategic thinking.

·        Ability to anticipate problems/risks, identify causes, and implement solutions.

Minimum Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s Degree in related field or Minimum of 5 years’ experience in related field can be substituted for degree.

·        Minimum of 2 years’ experience in program design and implementation.

·        Relevant experience working with volunteers and peers in recovery.

·        Familiar with the fundamentals of addiction, substance use, and mental health recovery.

Preferred Qualifications:

·        Master’s Degree

·        Familiar with city and county government structure.

·        Supervisory experience.

Working Environment: This position requires 100% on-site work (no remote and/or hybrid work).  The position may include prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and working at a computer.
