Recovery Support Peer Specialist Certification
Core training must be completed *before* you apply to the 5-day MHPS/RSPS training. This class is a 6-hour preview of the role of a Peer Recovery Coach and is designed to be a prerequisite for the RSPS/ MHPS Training.
Self-assessment and orientation: Students are required to read and sign an attestation that they have completed an HHSC self-assessment and orientation. Sign and print or save the Attestation of Completion and return it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The RSPS training is specialized for individuals in recovery from substance use and/or dual diagnosis seeking to use their recovery pathway to support other individuals in recovery.
The MHPS credential standardizes the qualifications of those working in Recovery Support within the field, having lived experience with mental health, and/or co-occurring disorders.
Participants will gain knowledge of how their shared experience of recovery will empower others to become engaged in the recovery process.
