Presents the next Recovery Support Peer Specialist-RSPS training.

WEEKEND TRAINING SCHEDULE: there will be 4 consecutive weekends for the Recovery Support Peer Specialist Training-RSPS
SCHEDULE:
note: Core Training REQUIRED before you take any of the 5-day training’s (MHPS/RSPS). MUST REGISTER FIRST!
The New Core Training Schedule will be:
19.5 Core Training that will be starting on Saturday & Sunday’s May 6,7, & 13th from 9-3:30pm (This is the new Required 19.5-hour Texas Core Curriculum). MUST REGISTER FIRST!
RSPS 5-day Training Schedule:
•1st Day of RSPS training on Sunday the May 14th 9-5pm
•2nd weekend of May Saturday & Sunday May 20-21st SELF-CARE BREAK
•3rd weekend of the RSPS training is Saturday & Sunday 9-5pm May 27-28th.
•4th weekend of the RSPS training is Saturday & Sunday 9-5pm June 3-4th. COMPLETION WEEKEND! (must attend all days)

Want to become a Recovery Coach?
*Are you 18 or older?
*Do you desire to utilize lived experiences to help others with their recovery & Self-Discovery process?
*Do you have the open & willingness to publicly identify your recovery & self-discovery journey?
Get state certified as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist and/or Recovery Support Peer Specialist 46 hour state/Medicaid credentialed.
Feel free to look on www.tcbap.org for more information on credentialing as both RSPS can be applied for your certification.
***Note: Here’s the process for individuals to become certified to bill Medicaid for peer support. The steps need to be completed in order. MUST TAKE BEFORE TRAINING IF WANTING TO LEAVE WITH THE RSPS CERTIFICATION***

*What will I gain you ask?
You will leave with a certificate of completion of both (RSPS) 46 education hours that lead you to obtaining your credentials (Medicaid billable); TCBAP approved credentialing, Motivational Interviewing techniques (note: people pay thousands of dollars to learn the basics of MI), effective/impactful communication & engagement techniques, cultural sensitivity, reducing the stigma in language techniques, ethic for your certification, knowledge on insight of LGBTQ population & multiple pathways to recovery.
*Who should attend?
ALL populations, cultures, pronouns, backgrounds, ETC. Those with lived experience of substance use & mental health challenges. LCDC, LCDCI’s, LPC’s, 12-steppers, those with lived experience in substance use & mental health, currently volunteering in a recovery/mental health location, those actively in the field but not quite sure how to provide quality peer support services with co-occurring challenges, those who have experiences jail/prison, those questioning how to get in the field of giving back due to experience of substance use/mental health, CPS workers that meet qualifications, attorneys that meet qualifications seeking knowledge on how to better support their participants, domestic violence services that may have staff that may meet qualifications, community advocates, re-entry services that may meet qualification… pretty much ALL those who have lived experience with substance use/mental health challenges, open to sharing recovery story, your neighbor, colleague, COPSD workers, community workers, mom, dad, sister, brother, niece, nephew, etc.
