Example Scenarios
PSS Example 1 (Supervision)
Paul, a Peer Specialist-Intern, is working on their Supervised 250 Hours by completing an internship with Organization X. They start their internship on August 1st, and are able to consistently volunteer for about 20 hours per week. They successfully complete their 250 hours of Supervision at the end of October. In total, they volunteered for 13 weeks. Each week, they received individual Supervision from Sue, an experienced Peer and QPS/PSS at Organization X. Some weeks the Supervision was done individually, but there were also a few weeks where the Supervision was done in groups.
Outcome | Successful completion |
Reimbursement amount | $400 |
In this example, Paul completed the program, so Organization X is reimbursed $400 for their 13 hours of Sue’s time doing Supervision of Paul. This is an hourly rate of approximately $30 per hour for Organization X.
PSS Example 2 (Supervision)
Marie, a Peer Specialist-Intern, is working on their Supervised 250 Hours by participating in an internship with Organization Y. They start their internship on December 1st, and are able to consistently volunteer for about 14 hours per week for about two months. At this point, Marie starts night-school. She’s struggling to balance school, work, and her internship. She notifies Organization Y that she is not going to be able to complete her internship. During her internship, Lars, a QPS/PSS, has provided individual weekly Supervision to Marie. They met, individually, on eight occasions.
Outcome | Incomplete internship |
Reimbursement amount | $240 ($30 per hour x 8 hours) |
In this example, Marie was not able to complete the program, so Organization Y is reimbursed only for the services they provided. They met eight times individually, so Organization Y received $240.
