Recovery & Self-Discovery is delighted to present the upcoming 19.5-hour Core Training, a required prerequisite for individuals pursuing certification as a:

• Mental Health Peer Specialist (MHPS)
• Recovery Support Peer Specialist (RSPS)

•  Re-Entry Peer Specialist (JI-RPS)

•  Certified Family Partner (CFP)

This training provides the foundational knowledge needed to begin your path as a Medicaid-billable Certified Peer Specialist in Texas.

Completion of this training is mandatory before enrolling in any 5-day certification course MHPS, RSPS, JI-RPS & CFP.

Participants are also required to read and sign an attestation confirming completion of the following HHSC materials:

• HHSC Self-Assessment
• HHSC Orientation

This interactive training covers essential, trauma-informed topics to prepare you for peer support roles, including:

• Principles of recovery and person-centered support
• Ethical boundaries and peer role clarity
• Communication and engagement strategies
• Cultural humility and stigma reduction
• Professionalism and trauma-informed care

You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of how to support others with empathy, respect, and professional integrity.

You must attend all sessions in full to receive credit.
