Mental Health Peer Specialist (MHPS) Training |

Prerequisite: Core training certificate of completion

Mental Health Peer Specialist (MHPS) training meets the 40-hour requirement for certification. Participants who complete this training and pass the knowledge assessment are eligible to apply for Peer Specialist certification in the state of Texas. If you are interested in utilizing your lived experience in mental health recovery to support others with similar experiences, this training is for you. Training participants will learn about Ethics/Values, Stages of Recovery, Recovery Storytelling, Change Agent/Advocacy, Engagement Driven Support, and Effective Communication Skills.
